Events happening at Shinzen Garden!
This Ikebana show will present exquisite floral arrangements created by members of the Fowler Ikebana Club. Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement, is a cultural practice also known as kadō 華道, or the ‘way of flowers.’
In this 2-hour workshop, instructor Steve DaSilva will provide instruction and training on how to properly prune a Japanese Black Pine. Our expert will show you all the whys and how’s about candling and needling to maintain aesthetics and keep your pines a manageable size.

Clark Bonsai Hours
Open Wed-Fri, 10am-1pm & weekends/holidays, 10am-4pm*.
*The bonsai collection is accessible when a docent is present. Please check the exhibit hours at the Shinzen Garden’s main entry gatehouse. Closed during rain, unhealthy air quality, temperatures over 95 degrees, and when docents are unavailable.

A neo-soul and Jazz aficionado, Ike Tecson spent the early part of his post-graduate years at the University of Hawaii touring Japan and performing at popular music venues such as the Sapporo Jazz Festival, Birdland, and the Yokohama Music Festival. He’s opened for Bon Jovi and the Black Eyed Peas while backing up rock guitarist Mike Corrado.
