Madera Unified Board President Al Galvez Elected to United Way Board of Directors

MADERA Madera Unified Board President, Al Galvez has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of United Way Fresno and Madera Counties. President Galvez has been elected to serve a three-year-term. Board President Al Galvez stated, "I've had a strong relationship with United Way dating back to the early 2000's."

"After being approached nearly 2 years ago to join the United Way Board, I decided to wait and monitor the direction the search for a new leader would take.  With Lindsay Callahan as President CEO, and the high standards she has set for the organization, I know that United Way will become a leader in the non-profit community in both Fresno & Madera counties. The support Lindsay will need to achieve these goals is the driver that gives me the desire to join the United Way team.”

Galvez is in his third year of his first term on the MUSD Board of Trustees, which he has served as president for the last two years. Prior to that he served on the MUSD Personnel Commission. The United Way Fresno and Madera Counties is grateful of the addition of Mr. Galvez to the board and is looking forward to helping working families in our counties thrive this upcoming year.
