2018 Begins with $812 Million Available in Jackpots

SACRAMENTO – What better way to start off the new year than with $812 million up for grabs across three draw games! That includes a $361 million Mega Millions® draw tonight!

The Mega Millions jackpot, which has not been hit since October 13th, was revised this morning from an estimated $343 million to an estimated $361 million! Tonight’s jackpot is now the eighth-largest in the game’s history. Here’s one more fun fact: during the last draw, on December 29th, there were nearly 1.7 million winning tickets!

But wait, there’s more! Tomorrow’s Powerball® jackpot now stands at an estimated $440 million! This is now the ninth-largest Powerball jackpot and 12th-largest U.S. Lottery jackpot. It’s also just the second time that both the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots have topped the $300 million mark at the same time.

And finally, California’s very own big jackpot game, SuperLotto Plus®, has a guaranteed jackpot of $11 million for tomorrow night’s draw. All three draw game jackpot amounts are before federal taxes.

Winners are strongly encouraged to sign the back of their ticket in ink, keep it in a safe place and familiarize themselves with the Lottery’s Winner’s Handbook, which can be found on the California Lottery’s website here. Also, very important: Powerball and Mega Millions winners must produce original winning tickets when they claim their prizes.
