Fresno Sheriff’s Detectives Investigating Suspicious Death

FRESNO - Around 9:45 am on Thursday, workers reported finding what appeared to be a deceased body lying in a row of a citrus grove. This orchard is located on the south side of Jensen Avenue, between Minnewawa and Clovis Avenues in Fresno.

Deputies responded to the scene and confirmed it was in fact a man who had died. Homicide detectives arrived and determined the death to be suspicious. They along with our Crime Scene Unit and Drone Unit worked to collect evidence and interview the people who made the discovery.

The nature of the person’s death is unknown at this time. An autopsy will be scheduled to make that determination. Forensic technicians are working to identify the man, which should help detectives learn more about the victim’s recent whereabouts and anything significant happening in his life.
