Garrett Michael Noblett (27)

Garrett Michael Noblett (27) - The world lost a talented and promising young man when Garrett Michael Noblett passed away at home and in the presence of his loving parents, Michael and Rochelle Noblett, on June 14, 2018.  His girlfriend, Kamilah Murphy, was also at his side.

Garrett was born on September 14, 1990, attended St. Joachim School through the eighth grade, and graduated from Madera High School in 2008.  During all four of his high-school years, he participated in water polo, swimming, and the ROP drama program, under the guidance of Ginger Latimer.  He earned academic honors for maintaining a 4.0 grade point average and was chosen as a Kiwanis Club Boy of the Month.
After high school, he attended Madera Community College Center for two years where he continued to excel academically.  He participated in the honors program and worked as a Chemistry Department aide.  After transferring to the University of California, Irvine, he worked his way through college as a Pharmaceutical Technologist, having successfully challenged the board licensing examination.
Garrett was a life-long learner with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge.  He recently expanded his horizons by taking courses in physics and computer programming.  Outside of class, he researched everything from magnetism to the functioning of batteries.  His “super batteries” burned up every flashlight in his parents’ and grandparents’ homes, much to their chagrin.

Garrett loved to debate, and – with his considerable knowledge – he would often wear down the worthiest of opponents.  He could, and often did, speak for hours, covering a vast variety of subjects and infusing his oratory with his sublime sense of humor.
During his childhood summers, he enjoyed spending time on the beach with his brother, Clint, and grandparents, Roy and Jewel Noblett.  Winters were often spent snow skiing in the Sierras. The Madera County Arts Council benefited from his hundreds of volunteer hours that were spent hanging shows, helping out at various fundraisers, and filling in wherever he was needed. At home, Garrett brought joy to his parents, grandparents, and everyone who was close to him, and he was generous with his hugs, which will be sorely missed.

Garrett was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Pete and Flora Minneti, his older brother, Jared Peter Noblett, and his aunt, Melanee Noblett Burchfield.  He is survived by his brother, Clint Noblett and Clint’s fiancé Alexis Burger, his parents, Michael and Rochelle Noblett, his grandparents, Roy and Jewel Noblett, his girlfriend Kamilah Murphy, and his aunts and uncles, Barbara Minneti, Lynea Lattanzio, Marcia Minneti, J. Michael Minneti, and Bob Burchfield.; and cousins Kasey and Calli Schnoor.
