MADERA - Former Madera resident Reynold Mason (Ren) Hallett (71) passed away on August 13, 2020, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Ren had moved back to Indiana in 2016 to be closer to family.
Ren was born on April 14, 1949, and grew up in the city of Indianapolis.He was a 1967 graduate of Howe Military Academy where he was “A" Company’s First Lieutenant and Platoon Leader. He was a champion swimmer for the school all four years.
After Howe, Ren attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana then served a stint in the United States Army. During this time his passions were the three Pontiac GTO's he owned and loved to race at the local drag strip.
He lived in Honolulu Hawaii for 30 years where he was the chief fundraiser for State of Hawaii Organization of Police Officers “SHOPO” that supported police departments throughout the state. He also promoted rock shows in Hawaii for Las Vegas superstar Frankie Moreno.
Ren moved to Madera fifteen years ago and opened Brandt Money Systems. He was an escort and fundraiser for the Central Valley Honor Flights and raised money for the Central Valley Boys and Girls Clubs. He was a member of the Madera Rotary Club and served as their president in 2013/14.
Ren Loved antiquing, auctions, and collecting hard to find items. He especially loved his two Dachshund dogs Louie and Dewy (who were his family), But Ren’s greatest love was the love he had for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a dedicated member of the Westside Community Church in Madera and the Chapel Rock Christian Church in Indianapolis.
Ren was preceded in death by his parents Reynold E (father) Vernette T (mother) and Pamela Lynn (sister). He is survived by his sister Lynn Beuke, Nephews Justin (Lauren), Christopher (Christina), Niece Kaitlin, Great nieces and nephews Hailey, Donovan, Riley, Cooper, and Mia
Crown Hill Funeral Home in Indianapolis will conduct a Celebration of Life Service that will be held September 12, 2020, at the Chapel Rock Christian Church in Indianapolis at 2:30 PM
Cards of remembrance can be sent to his younger sister Lynn Beuke at 2417 N. Lynhurst Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46224. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Central California Honor Flight in his name.
