Louie Munoz (89)

Louie Munoz (89), of Madera, California passed away peacefully on Friday, April 15, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Louie was born in Madera, California to Benito and Atanasia Munoz. Louie attended local schools and graduated from Madera High School.

Louie married Alice Gutierrez of Mendota, California in 1956 and they started their family. Louie started work on Television repair in Mendota and eventually moved back to Madera and landed a job at Radio T.V. Hospital with the Massetti family. After leaving the T.V. repair business Louie landed a job with Madera Unified School District as a Custodian and was quickly promoted to Head Custodian at Thomas Jefferson Middle School until his retirement.

Louie had a passion for baseball and shared that passion with the youth of Madera. He not only spent his free time on the ball fields of the Madera American League, but he also served as the organization’s president. Countless boys called Louie coach that would go on to play in college, and some even made it to the pros.

Louie enjoyed watching his favorite T.V. show, Perry Mason as well as his sports, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his Grandkids.

Louie and Alice raised five children (two sons & three daughters) Louie was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Lisa Munoz, and his Grand-daughters Aubrey King and Raven Cook.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Alice Munoz, his son Benny Munoz (Sabrina) of Madera, daughter Susan Chase (Stephen) of Bakersfield, son Ronnie Munoz of Madera, and daughter Joanna Munoz of Madera.

Louie also leaves behind his most cherished Grandchildren, Kenny Munoz of Napa, Samantha Munoz of Madera, Christopher (Kelsey) Munoz of Madera, Johnathan (Desiree) Munoz of Madera, Steven Munoz of Madera, Colby & Shelby Chase of Bakersfield, Andrew Butler (Lauren) Fresno, Monica (Junior) Garcia of Fresno, Thomas Goetz of Fresno, Duncan and Arwen Cook of Madera, and his Great-Grandkids, E.J. King, Johnathan, Nathan, Savannah, Jessie, and Zaden Munoz, Marilyn Cueves, Faith and Isaac Garcia, Bryce, Austin, and Alexis Butler.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 11:30 am at St. Joachim Catholic Church on Friday, April 29, 2022. The mass of Christian Burial will begin at Noon following the Rosary. All service will conclude at the church. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date.
