No. 10 Fresno State Equestrian Team Captures Victory Over No. 4 Baylor

FRESNO  - The No. 10 Fresno State equestrian team downed the No. 4-ranked Baylor 10-8 on Saturday afternoon at the Student Horse Center. The Bulldogs won three of the four events in a meet that came down to the wire.  The last time the Bulldogs defeated the Bears was Feb. 17, 2017 with a 10-10 final that turned to a 1458-1456.5 raw score final in Fresno State's favor. The last time Fresno State defeated Baylor by points was on Feb. 22, 2014 when the 'Dogs topped the Bears 10-5 at the Student Horse Center.

"We needed this win today," said head coach Eric Hubbard. "It has been a tough Fall for us. We are a young team that is full of talent that is still working out the kinks. I am very proud of our team and our MOPs from today. This is a great place to be as we head into our break."


Bulldog Baseball Hall of Famer Tom Goodwin Wins World Series with the Boston Red Sox

FRESNO -  Fresno State Baseball Hall of Famer Tom Goodwin won his first World Series as an assistant coach of the Boston Red Sox on Sunday night at Dodger Stadium. Goodwin just completed his first season as the Red Sox's first base coach after spending the previous six seasons as the first base coach for the New York Mets.

A Fresno native, Goodwin played three years for his hometown Bulldogs from 1987 to 1989 helping lead Fresno State to the 1988 College World Series where the 'Dogs tied for seventh finishing the season with a school-record 56 wins. The 'Dogs also made the 1989 NCAA Tournament in his final season at Fresno State as he was named a First-Team All-American leading the nation with 61 stolen bases and put together a school-record 29-game hitting streak helping the 'Dogs to 44 wins.

McMaryion named a Maxwell Award Semifinalist

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Fresno State senior quarterback Marcus McMaryion has been named a Maxwell Award Semifinalist, as announced by Maxwell Football Club President Mark Dianno on Monday. Given to the Collegiate Player of the Year, McMaryion is one of 11 quarterbacks on the semifinalist list which also features seven running backs and two wide receivers.

The Dinuba native, who is 16-3 as the Bulldog starting quarterback over the last two seasons, currently leads the Mountain West and ranks eighth nationally in completion percentage at 70.4 percent connecting on 171-of-234 passes this season. McMaryion ranks third in the MW and 15th in the nation with 18 touchdown passes while his 2,142 passing yards rank fourth in the MW and 18th nationally. Adding seven rushing touchdowns, McMaryion has accounted for 25 total touchdowns which has resulted in 150 points for the Bulldogs which puts him second in the conference and eighth in the country in points responsible for.

Bulldogs Run Away with 50-20 Homecoming Victory Over Hawai'i

FRESNO -  Fresno State made it six straight wins with a 50-20 Homecoming victory over Hawai'i on Saturday night at Bulldog Stadium. The Bulldogs (7-1, 4-0 MW) totaled a season-high 562 yards of offense passing for 348 yards and rushing for 214 while holding Hawai'i (6-4, 3-2 MW), who came in averaging 34.9 points per game, to their second fewest points scored this season.

Senior wide receiver KeeSean Johnson matched his season-high with eight receptions and had his fourth 100-yard receiving game of the season finishing with a team-high 102 yards. With his final reception of the night, Johnson became the program's all-time receptions leader with 234 passing current Green Bay Packer wide receiver and former Bulldog Davante Adams (2012-13).

Brigitte Thibault Continues to Pace Bulldogs at LVCS

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - Fresno State fired a 4-over-par 292 in the second round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, hosted by UNLV at Boulder Creek Golf Club on Monday. The Bulldogs currently sit alone in eighth place with a 7-over-par 583 through two rounds (291-292), up a spot from yesterday. Two Bulldogs are in the top 20 in the leaderboards through day two.

The Bulldogs were led by sophomore Brigitte Thibault and freshman Jessica Hall who each fired a 2-under-par 70 in the second round. Thibault (69-70=139) is currently tied at fourth place while Hall (72-70=142) moves up 10 spots in the leaderboard to sit tied for 16th at the end of the second round.
