MADERA - The Madera District Fair kicked off it's four day run Thursday with robots and country music. The kids from the Madera High School Robotics Team took over Lumber Town with their robots and VR Games. Then Gary Allan brought his brand of country music to the main stage to rock the crowds.
This year the concerts are free and you can get right up front, close to the stars. Last night folks rented lawn chairs to hang out on the grass or stand close to the stage for the free Gary Allan show. Tonight Kool and the Gang take the stage for a little funky Rhythm and Blues. There are a limited amount of lawn chairs that rent for Five Dollars a night.
The robotics team is at the fair all week for techno-fun. Check out Lumber Town to see their latest projects and get some hands on learning from the kids. 3D Printers are on display that the kids made in their class at Madera High School. There will also be a video game competition each night. There is so much to do in Lumber Town this year that you might forget there is a fair going on outside.
Don't forget to let Big Valley News take your photo at the Lumber Town Water Wheel. We will then upload it to the Madera Fair's Facebook page where you can download it for free.
Gates open tonight at 5pm.
