MADERA -The kids of the Madera Unified School District descended upon the grounds of the Madera Fair for Kids Day. Over four thousand third graders from all of the MUSD schools plus some of the area county schools walked the grounds to check out the entertainment, educational displays and of course the animals. Corn dogs were enjoyed by those that brought their money but for the most part this was an annual free experience for the kids.
When the gates opened for the general public later in the day the carnival attracted kids of all ages. In the Woman's World building the home grown pie judging contest brought out the best bakers from Madera. Out in Livestock the kids had one last day to prepare for Saturday's auction.
When the sun went down the funk went up with Kool and the Gang on the main stage. The nearly sold-out crowd enjoyed the celebration with the second free show of the year. Tonight 70's rock legend Eddie Money takes the stage to off his Two Tickets to Paradise. The show starts at 8pm and gates open today at 3pm.
