Livestock Auction and Eddie Money Highlight the Madera Fair

MADERA - There is only one day left to get out to the Madera Fair and experience your fair since 1937. Only one day left to eat a Madera Fair corn dog or a 20/30 tri-tip sandwich. Only one day left to check out Tech Town in Lumber Town and play a virtual reality game or work a real life robot. The gates open at 3pm and tonight's concert is a double header.

If you're in Hatfield Hall you should check out the gorgeous works of edible art at Chickies Tasty Treats. These aren't your mother's home baked cookies. Ty-dyed cookies or cookies made with beer, you have to see these works of art to believe them Have you ever wanted to "Have a Cow"? You can order a dozen of them from Chickie. Check out her collection of cookies, macarons, cupcakes and caramels.

Yesterday the kids from the Future Farmers of American and 4H got their pay offs for a hard years work. The Junior Auction set record bids with rabbits and chickens selling for over a thousand dollars. Four hundred dollar turkeys and a thirty-two dollar a pound goat were the highlights but it's all for the kids and their projects. What these kids learn today in the FFA and 4H will help provide the next generation of farmers and ranchers with the tools to continue to supply the world with food.

New York legendary rocker Eddie Money took the stage with three of his kids for a sold out free show on the main stage. He played all his hits with his daughter on back up vocals and his two sons on guitar and drums. The family affair was enjoyed by a packed crowd in the newly designed main stage concert venue. This year all the concerts were free with fair admission and you could rent awesome lawn chairs to kick back under the stars while watching the stars.

Come on out tonight from 5pm to 7pm and let Big Valley News take your photo at the Lumber Town Water Wheel. This will be our last year for taking guest photos at the fair and we would like to thank the hundreds of families who have allowed us to share their fair experience. It has been a lot of fun.

Gates open at 3pm and the concert starts at 8pm.
