FRESNO - On Tuesday, June 6, 2017, the Fresno Police Department received a call regarding a male who appeared to be transferring a stolen vehicle from one trailer to another in the area of Thesta and McKinley. Central District patrol officers and detectives from the Career Criminal Auto Theft Team (CCATT) responded.

When officers arrived, the involved male was detained. The vehicle he was moving from one trailer to another was a dismantled/stripped 2008 GMC Yukon. The GMC was a reported stolen vehicle out of NW Fresno from January of 2016. The male was identified as Jesse Gomez, 38, of Fresno.

Crime Stoppers Tip Leads to Arrest of Suspect and Discovery of Narcotics Print E-mail

FRESNO - On Monday, June 5, 2017, the Fresno Police Department received a Crime Stoppers Tip about illegal gambling, prostitution, and narcotic sales out of a home near the 200 block of North Blackstone Avenue. Officers Art Rodriguez and Blake Dudley immediately conducted an investigation on the home by conducting surveillance, pedestrian stops and contacts.

During one of these contacts the officers contacted Shane Presho, a 43 year old Fresno resident. Presho was found to have a Felony Grand Theft warrant for his arrest. As Presho was arrested for the warrant, the officers discovered a pipe commonly used for smoking narcotics, mainly methamphetamine, and approximately 10 grams of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine in his possession.

FRESNO - On Sunday, June 4, 2017, just before 11pm, Southwest District officers from the Fresno Police Departmentreceived a call of a gunman inside the El Patio Bar near F and Inyo streets in the Chinatown area.

The caller reported seeing a man inside the business who was pacing back and forth, while holding a large caliber gun in his hand. At one point, the male sat down at the bar and kept the firearm on his lap. In the meantime, at least 10 customers were still inside the bar.

FRESNO - In an ongoing effort to educate the public and reduce crime, the Fresno Police Deaprtment's Northeast Investigations unit would like to post the following maps of where vehicle burglaries have occurred during the past 14 days.

During the past 14 days, 42 vehicles were broken into in the Northeast Policing District. This is 17 less than the previous 14 days, which is a 28.8% decrease. The predominant method of entry continues to be window smash to gain access to items in sight.

CLOVIS - Officers from the Clovis Police Department’s Traffic Division will be deployed this Memorial weekend to stop and arrest alcohol and drug-impaired drivers as part of the Department’s ongoing traffic safety campaign. DUI Saturation Patrols will be deployed in areas with high frequencies of DUI collisions and /or arrests.

High Visibility Enforcement using both DUI Saturation Patrols has proven to lower the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol or drug impaired crashes. Research shows that crashes involving an impaired driver can be reduced by up to 20 percent when well-publicized proactive DUI operations are conducted routinely.
