CLOVIS - About 3:15 Thursday afternoon, Clovis Police responded to calls for shots fired in the neighborhood east of Fowler and south of Bullard. When they arrived they found multiple shots had been fired through a front window into a house in the 700 block of McArthur. A family of five was in the home at the time. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
Officers swept the area, including Clovis High School, looking for two young men with guns. Witnesses say the pair got out of a dark blue van, shot at the house, and ran back to the vehicle up the street and around the corner. Clovis Police drove through the area looking for the van, and alerted other area police agencies to be on the look out for it. The suspects are described only as Hispanic in their late teens or early 20s. Police detectives are trying to determine a motive for the gunfire, but as yet, none has surfaced. Crime Scene Investigators are searching the house, collecting evidence from the shots fired. The family left their home to stay with friends or relatives for the night. If anyone has any information about the incident or the dark blue van (we do not have a make, model or license number), you’re asked to call the Clovis Police Department at 324-2800.
