After he hung up, he demanded that his mother open the door. When she didn’t open it, he kicked it in. He then started yelling at her to hang up the phone (with police). He kicked in another door inside the house, grabbed a shotgun with a gun lock secured on it, and leveled it at his mother. His mother ran outside, and the 19-year-old remained inside as officers arrived on scene.  A Clovis Police sergeant spoke with him on the phone and convinced the young man to surrender. He came out of the house with his hands up without incident. Officers placed him in the back of a patrol car while they continued their investigation. The young man’s mother decided she did not want to file a criminal complaint against her son, so he was transported by ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center for evaluation. Because this is now a health issue, Clovis PD is not releasing the 19-year-old’s name. The whole incident lasted less than 20 minutes. Only the mother and her son were inside the house. No one was hurt. Clovis Police blocked off Everglade at Villa and Orangewood at Lester until the scene was secured.
