Local Arrest Reports for the Central Valley

Big Valley News has teamed up with Local Crime News, California's dedicated resource for arrest news. We have reporters throughout all of California collecting arrest news which is gathered and published daily. Our arrest news is provided as a courtesy resource for the general public. We partner with Neighborhood Watch Groups and Crime Stoppers to keep organizations in the loop on arrests that are happening throughout their cities and neighborhoods.

In 1989 Jack Porter opened a small bulletin board system (BBS) in Madera called Zen Den Systems. The one-line BBS ran on the commercial Wildcat software, while many of the other boards in the area used a free software called Opus. ZDS was a part of the FIDO-Net system at the time and there was controversy with the Fresno boards because of it. For the next five years, the bulletin board grew and was named the 11^th most popular board in North America by Boardwatch Magazine in 1991.

For the last twenty-nine years we have successfully marketed our online services to the Central Valley. Beginning in 1989, we opened the first online bulletin board in Madera County that two years later was recognized as one of the nation's top 15 BBS's in the county by Boardwatch Magazine.

Six years later we launched MaderaOnline.com as Madera County's first online newspaper. Millions of user sessions later we are still a valley leader in online communication delivering BigValleyNews.com to online readers from Merced to Tulare county's.
