TAP HOUSE MADERA: Pizza & Beer Have Never Looked Better But Leave The Kids at Home

RESTAURANT REVIEW – Have you ever wished for an adult-friendly pizza place with a plethora of beers and wines on tap? Have you wanted a pizza & beer but didn't want to hear kids running all over the place beating on arcade games and screaming for more quarters? Well the Tap House in Madera just might be the place you've longed for.

There are always twelve beers and three wines on tap from several of the local breweries and wineries like Drakes Brewing, Riley's Brewing, Sierra Nevada, Tioga Sequoia Brewing and San Joaquin Winery. In the refrigerator was another dozen bottled beers and even more wines. Beers runs from $4.00 to $7.00 a glass. Now the beer selections are mostly local beers or other common beers that can be found in many other pubs. I believe in time their selections will broaden to rarer and more exotic beers.

Until Governments Adopt a Science-based Recovery Plan, Top Chefs Say 'NO' to Pacific Bluefin Tuna

MONTEREY - Leading chefs on five continents have pledged to keep Pacific bluefin tuna off their menus until there's effective international action to manage the fishery in ways that reverse a precipitous decline in the bluefin tuna population. Nearly 200 globally prominent chefs and culinary leaders—including Brazil's Alex Atala, James Beard Award nominee Michael Cimarusti of the United States and Annabel Langbein of New Zealand—say that Pacific Rim nations must act immediately to recover Pacific bluefin tuna.

Bluefin tunas are among the planet's most iconic and prized fish. In recent decades, global demand for Pacific bluefin tuna has driven the population down to a critical level—just 2.6 percent of its historic population. Pacific bluefin numbers are significantly lower than Atlantic and Southern bluefin tuna, and lower than all other assessed tuna species.
