Madera Unified Hosts Winter Showcase Party at Warnors Theatre

MADERA .- Madera Unified Visual and Performing Arts students will have the opportunity to perform at the Warnors Theatre on Saturday, December 9 for the first time for the Winter Showcase Party. This massive project of the districts is intended to show off the expansion of its performing arts department. You can expect to see performances from the Visual and Performing Arts students which include folkloric dancers, musical bands, and drama students.

According to district spokesman Babatunde Ilor, "with so many of our teachers and administrators living in Fresno we wanted to give them the opportunity to see what are students are doing in the performing arts and what a better place than the beautiful Warnors Theater."

Superintendent Todd Lyle said that this event will give our kids an opportunity to perform in a world class venue and allow our parents and teachers to realize what the benefits of an on-campus theater will do for our community. Madera Unified’s next high school is scheduled to break ground in 2018 will have an on-campus theater that this community has long needed.

Madera Unified’s Visual and Performing Arts program gives students the opportunity to learn how to play a musical instrument, develop their vocal skills and express their artistic abilities through art and drama. This event will provide students with the opportunity to perform in a grand historic venue. The event is open to the public.

Tickets are available at the Madera Unified District Office on Howard Road. General admission seating is ten dollars with VIP seating available at $20. The district will be busing parents from Madera to the Fresno theater, check with the district for the transportation schedule. Following the performance a VIP reception will take place at Frank's Place Restaurant next door to the theater for $30 (includes VIP seat). Space is limited for the reception.
