Angelo Pierotti (94)

Angelo Pierotti (94) was born December 27, 1922 to Italian immigrants, Carlo & Eda Pierotti, on South “D” Street in Madera, which at that time was called “Little Italy.” His family then moved to the country and Angelo attended Ripperdan Elementary School and Madera Union High School. He married his wonderful wife, Dora, on June 6, 1943 in Madera and Honeymooned in San Francisco. They have been married for 74 years.

Angelo and Dora bought a vineyard on Avenue 8 ½ and raised two daughters together. A little later Angelo became a beloved Head Custodian and Bus Driver for Ripperdan Elementary School, while still farming 20 acres of vineyard in the Ripperdan area. He loved that school and kept it beautifully manicured with flowers planted every spring. Because of his encouragement to the Ripperdan students, all the students had respect for him and said his name with excitement when they called him “Mr. Pierotti.”

In 1966, after Ripperdan became a part of Madera Unified School District. Angelo moved to town and transferred into the School District’s Maintenance Group. Angelo enjoyed his job and worked toward perfection in anything he did. He retired after 34 years of service.

Angelo is a Past-President of the Madera Unified Classified Employee Association, Past-President of the Italian Club, Past-President of the Away We Go RV Group and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He leaves behind his wife, Dora Pierotti, his two daughters, Barbara Beckett and her husband Rick, Carol Petrucci and her husband Thomas. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Jay Chapel, from 8 AM to 11 AM with a Funeral Service following at 11 AM at Jay Chapel. Interment will follow at Arbor Vitae Cemetery.

The Family expresses their gratitude to Angelo’s caregivers and the staff of Sojourn Hospice for the care given to him. It is truly appreciated.

In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1125 North Lake Street, Madera, Ca. 93638.
