Joe Lee Restine (87), affectionately known as Joe to his friends and family, departed this world after an extended illness in Coarsegold, California. Born in Amarillo, Texas, Joe's journey through life was one marked by dedication, laughter, and an unyielding kindness that touched everyone he met.

Joe's early years in Texas were the foundation of a life lived with purpose and joy. He pursued his passion for knowledge and innovation at UCLA, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. His academic achievements were only the beginning of a career that would be as diverse as it was distinguished.

Upon completing his education, Joe answered the call of duty and proudly served in the United States Navy for four years. As a flight simulator controller, he honed his skills and disciplined approach to work, attributes that would serve him well throughout his life. His service to his country was a time of great pride and would remain a significant chapter in his storied life.

After his naval service, Joe embarked on a successful career as a Petroleum Engineer. His work with Getty Oil, Texaco Oil, and ultimately Chevron Oil, spanned an impressive 40 years, a testament to his expertise and commitment to the field. Joe’s professional legacy was marked by the respect of his colleagues and a reputation for excellence that followed him even into retirement.

Retirement, however, was not a signal for Joe to slow down. Instead, he channeled his energy into new ventures, earning his Real Estate license and then his Real Estate Broker License. Joe's relentless pursuit of knowledge and growth was an inspiration to many and a reflection of his dynamic character.

Joe's interests extended beyond his professional endeavors. He had a profound love for breeding and raising horses, a passion that complemented his life in Yosemite Lakes Park. His involvement in the Church of Christ in Coarsegold was a reflection of his commitment to his community and his faith. Joe’s kind spirit and friendly demeanor made him a cherished member of the congregation and the broader community.

Described by those who knew him best as kind, funny, and friendly, Joe brought light and laughter into the lives of those around him. His humor and warmth will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will continue to bring smiles to the faces of his loved ones.

Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 14 years, Fleeta Dickinson Restine of Coarsegold, California. His legacy lives on through his son, Kevin Restine and wife Tona, and their children Ryan and Riley of Georgetown, Texas; his daughter, Karen Long and her husband Rick, and their children Lacey and Lindsey of Taft, California, Ricky of Ventura, California, and his four great-grandchildren, who will grow up hearing tales of their great-grandfather’s kindness and zest for life.

Joe was preceded in death by his loving parents, Curtis and Opal Restine, who instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion that he carried throughout his life.

Joe Restine’s life was a tapestry of love, service, and unwavering integrity. As we say farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate the indelible mark he left on the world. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his influence will continue to be felt for generations to come.
