Webster Benard (81)

Webster "Web" Benard (81), a native of Keota, OK and a resident of Madera, CA for 77 years passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015 at a Fresno hospital. He was a retired U.S. Postal Clerk where he worked for 34 years and a member of Westside Christian Fellowship Church.

Web served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and in his early years enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid antique hunter who collected a wide variety of items – especially those related to the history of the Central Valley.

Web was preceded in death by his brother, Manuel Benard from Raymond.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wanda Benard of Madera, CA. Children: Pastor Barry Benard and his wife Tricia of Madera, CA; Denise Schoettler and her husband Matt of Chowchilla, CA and Cindy Beakes of Madera, CA. He was the sibling to Dan Benard and his wife Pat of Madera, CA; Geneva Brown of Merced and Bill Benard and his wife Barbara of Chowchilla, CA. Web was the grandfather to Kelsey Mehrten, Phillip Benard, Jackson Benard, Stephen Schoettler, Kristen Schoettler, Cortney King and Taylor Beakes and great-grandfather to Emmett Schoettler.

Funeral services will be on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Jay Chapel in Madera with interment to follow at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera.
