Proactive Traffic Stops Result in Multiple Madera County Arrests

OAKHURST - On January 16, 2022 around 9pm, Madera County Sheriff's deputies observed an older Ford F-250 matching the description of a recently stolen vehicle traveling northbound on CA-41 in Oakhurst. After conducting a vehicle stop, MCSO Dispatch confirmed the vehicle was stolen out of Oakhurst.
The driver, 42 year old Ryan David Osteen of Mariposa County, was determined to have an active felony warrant out of Mariposa County. Osteen was arrested and booked into the Madera County Jail for charges of unlawfully taking/driving a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, burglary tools, forgery, probation violation, and a Mariposa County No bail Felony warrant.
On January 17, 2022 shortly after 10pm, deputies conducted a vehicle stop in the area of CA-41 and Royal Oaks Drive in Oakhurst for vehicle code violations.The driver, Oakhurst resident Diana Buchholz, was determined to have an active misdemeanor warrant out of Madera County.
 
During a search of the vehicle, deputies located a loaded firearm and methamphetamine. Buchholz was arrested and booked into the Madera County Jail for her warrant, as well as charges of carrying a loaded firearm by an unregistered person, possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
 
Sheriff Tyson Pogue states, “The safety and security of our community is paramount. I applaud the efforts of our night shift deputies taking proactive measures to ensure the safety of our residents while they sleep.”
