Goshen Family Massacred in "Drug Cartel-like" Slaying

TULARE COUNTY – Early Monday morning, Tulare County Deputies were called to a home in the 6800 Block of Harvest Road in Goshen for multiple shots fired. The reporting party believed an active shooter was in the area because of the number of shots being heard. Deputies arrived seven minutes later to find a ten-month-old baby and his mother dead in the street and a third gunshot victim dead in the home’s doorway.

Deputies searched the area and found six victims inside and outside the home. One victim was still alive when deputies arrived on the scene and was taken to the hospital after deputies performed CPR on him. Unfortunately, they were all pronounced dead, including the victim transported to the hospital, who died en route.

Detectives believe there are at least two suspects, and this is not a random act of violence. Instead, it appears this family was targeted, and gang associations and potential drug investigations are involved. A week ago, Tulare County Sheriff Detectives conducted a narcotics search warrant at the victims’ home.

The victims have been identified as:

      72-year-old Rosa Parraz
      52-year-old Eladio Parraz Jr.
      50-year-old Jennifer Analla
      19-year-old Marcos Parraz
      16-year-old Alissa Parraz
      10-month-old Nycholas Parraz

Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux said a call came from one of the survivors hiding in a trailer. There were three survivors total in the incident. Two were inside the trailer, and the other was inside the house. The survivors had seen the intruders sneaking onto the property on surveillance cameras. Neighbors say the house has several video cameras all over the property.

The Sheriff said the teen mother and her baby tried running away but were ultimately shot where she fell execution-style in the street. The teen was from Northern California and had been living with her father's side of the family in Goshen for the last year.

Boudreaux added that the shooting appears tied to gangs and possibly drugs and believes it's not a random act of violence. He went on to describe it as being a cartel-like execution. “We do not believe that this was a random act of violence,” Sheriff Boudreaux told reporters at the news conference. “We believe that this was very targeted. This was very personal, and we believe it was a message being sent.”

“This was not your run-of-the-mill, low-end gang member,” Sheriff Boudreaux told reporters, adding that the “manner and swiftness” of the killings suggested the men were experienced in murder. He said many of the victims had been shot in the head, including the older woman, who was found in a bed inside the home, and the young mother and her baby.

Autopsies are expected to be finished by Friday on the victims' bodies.

This is an active investigation. Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office at (559) 733-6218, or they can remain anonymous by calling or texting (559) 725-4194.

A $10,000 reward has been offered for information on the deadly shootings. That reward is expected to increase. In addition, a GoFundMe account has been set up for the burial expenses of the young mother and her baby.
