Former Owner of Fresno Grizzlies Dies in Single Vehicle Accident: Brian Glover (52)

BANKS, OR – The former managing partner of the Triple-A franchise Fresno Grizzlies died Thu Thursday after crashing his car into an embankment in rural Washington County.

According to Oregon State Police, Brian Glover (52) died at the scene of the accident on  U.S. Freeway 26 around 2pm Thursday on the west side of the Dennis L. Edwards Tunnel northwest of Banks, Oregon..

An early investigation shows he was headed east in a 2017 BMW X1 when he left the highway and hit a stone tunnel embankment. Police believe Glover may have suffered a medical event before the crash.

The highway was closed for about three hours, according to troopers. No one else was in the car. The crash remains under investigation.

The Grizzlies family is feeling the loss of their former owner, who became a managing partner in 2005. "We are shocked and saddened due to the sudden passing of Brian Glover.  Many of our remaining front office staff worked alongside Brian under the prior Grizzlies ownership.  Brian’s commitment and effort to the franchise as a past owner cannot be overstated.  So many of the community efforts still going strong today were due to his leadership, especially the ‘Junior Grizzlies’ baseball program for special needs players and construction of the ‘Field of Dreams’ in Clovis.  That will always be a part of Brian’s legacy with the Grizzlies, and it hurts to lose a member of the Fresno Grizzlies family.  Our sincerest condolences go out to his family and close friends.," says Paul Braverman, the Grizzlies media relations coordinator.
